We are an RDW-approved export desk at Slachthuisweg 135, 7556 AZ Hengelo (Overijssel), in the Netherlands, about 1 km from the A1. We have no desk in Portugal, but much of the Dutch side can be arranged remotely.
Opening hours of the Dutch export desk in Hengelo
- Monday to Saturday: 10:00 to 16:30. Walk-ins are welcome, but call or send a WhatsApp message first, ideally about 20 minutes before you arrive.
- Sunday: by appointment, at a higher rate; call or send a WhatsApp message to arrange it and to hear the final price.
- Outside office hours: by appointment; a higher rate may apply.

Remote car export, also when the car is abroad
You can prepare the export online. Send the yellow Dutch plates by post or courier and we start once they arrive. Documents and plates are sent insured with tracking, also to Portugal.
Is the car already in Portugal, for example after a move? Contact us first about the export by post: DHL standard takes about 5 working days, DHL Express about 1 working day. We then tell you which documents are needed and what it costs.
Send photos and documents through the WhatsApp button next to the form, for example the registration card, the ID of the person in whose name the export is arranged or, for an extension, the current Green Card.
Portuguese registration steps stay with the owner
We arrange the Dutch side only. The IMT, the CITV inspection, the DAV, the ISV and the Registo Automóvel are handled by the owner after arrival; our page on how to import a car and register it there explains them. For an overview of all services, start at our car export overview.

Privacy for this form
We only use your details to answer and handle your request. The form sends your details by email to our team. A backup copy is kept for up to 90 days by our hosting provider Cloudflare and is then deleted automatically.
We do not share your details with others unless your request requires it, for example the deregistration with the RDW or arranging the export insurance. This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Visiting or calling the export desk: practical questions
Can I come to the Hengelo desk without booking?
During office hours, Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30, you can walk in, but calling or sending a WhatsApp message first is recommended, ideally about 20 minutes before you arrive. On Sundays we open by appointment at a higher rate.
Can you deal with the IMT or customs in Portugal for me?
No. Our only desk is in Hengelo, in the Netherlands. We do not handle the Portuguese steps, such as the IMT, the CITV inspection, the DAV, the ISV or the Registo Automóvel.
How do I send photos and documents?
